SPECIES —
(Scaphirhynchus Platorhynchus) Commonly
known as 'shovelnose', hackleback is found throughout portions
of Mississippi
and Missouri river basins. Prefers murky shoals and congregate
in pools. Reaches maturity in 5 to 7 years, averaging a
little under 3 feet in length and weighing about 12 pounds.
